Laboratory Assistant

The Laboratory Assistant plays a vital support role in the lab environment, working under the supervision of senior lab personnel to ensure smooth operations and accurate data collection. Responsibilities include preparing samples, maintaining equipment, managing inventory, and adhering to safety protocols while assisting technologists in conducting experiments.
Key Responsibilities
- Label and organize samples for analysis according to established protocols
- Clean, calibrate, and sterilize laboratory equipment
- Order, receive, and store laboratory supplies and reagents
- Set up experimental apparatus and prepare solutions as directed
- Adhere to all laboratory safety guidelines and procedures
- Properly dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with regulations
- Maintain detailed laboratory records and logs
- Identify and report minor equipment issues
- Collaborate with technologists and lab staff to ensure efficient workflow
- Conduct quality control checks on reagents and samples
- Assist Lab Manager with inspection preparation
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- May require weekend shift

Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Science or higher required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role
- Additional training or certification is a plus
